September 18 was a very swampy and rainy day in Iwakuni. It was also the day in which the 29th Triathlon of MCAS Iwakuni was held.

As a newbie to the sport I didn't participate, I still haven't gotten over my anxiety of being around so many cyclists/athletes at the same time, but as a photographer and fellow sportsman I went to show my support to three people that I've met which share the same passion for cycling - if not more than mine.

This picture is foggy because of the humidity and my lens. They never get along.

This is Chad, he is the biggest cycling enthusiast I've met to date. He placed top 10 in his age group during this triathlon.

And this smiley dude is Blake, who missed a turn for trying to be too photogenic.

And this is Eileen, a very good and close friend that was the one that started this whole cycling fever in my family. She placed 1st on her age group and was the 3rd female to finish the triathlon.

Jessica (another cyclist friend) and her toddler came to watch the triathletes swim, cycle and run through a very wet and gloomy looking morning. and Bert (Jess' boy) did such a good job at cheering the athletes on and winning their hearts.

After their time under, out and back into the water, the exhausted athletes chat among themselves and talk about the did's and didn't's of the race.

This was definitely an inspiring experience and I consider myself lucky to have such inspirational individuals in my life, even if just on leased time.
